In an effort to find a balance during the Holidays, tRP is raising money and raising awareness for World Peace.  Proceeds from parties held at theRIVERHEADPROJECT and donations from waiters and guests are to be given to the GERE Foundation whose efforts bring us closer to World Peace.

Dennis McDermott thinks about many things on any given day.  World Peace is one of them. This Holiday Season theRIVERHEADPROJECT will be promoting thePEACEPROJECT a concept that came to McDermott during the long bike segment of a Half Ironman.

“Holidays are a time of giving thanks and being grateful for all that we have, but these days it has become more about an expectation of receiving gifts and the chore of shopping for gifts.   I needed a way to counterbalance all that consumption,” says McDermott, “I felt I wanted to make a difference this time round.  I wanted to bring awareness, that, we all can make a difference. It sounds like something out of Miss America but I believe if we collectively think about World Peace we actually become closer to it.

tRP (theRIVERHEADPROJECT) is spearheading the fundraising in multiple ways: a cocktail party on December 11th, where 100% of proceeds are directly donated along with Ten Percent of all Holiday Parties booked at the restaurant; guests can contribute directly at the time of paying the check and the waiters are donating 50% of the tips they receive on Sundays. All contributions will be donated to the Gere Foundation which was chosen because of its’ efforts to support the Tibetan Monk’s quest toward World Peace for all. Gere Foundation is a non-profit tax-exempt organization incorporated under section 501(c)(3) in the United States. Established by Richard Gere, the Foundation provides philanthropic assistance to the causes and groups whose work represents the humanitarian goals he has long supported.
